XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) ETFs attracted $8.17 million on Thursday, making it the only one of four major spot crypto ETF categories to post net inflows during the session.

How XRP Broke From the Pack

According to SoSoValue data, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana funds collectively lost a significant amount while XRP funds saw gains:

| Spot ETF Category | Oct. 8 Net Flows | Oct. 5-8 Net Flows | | --- | --- | --- | | XRP | +$8.17 million | +$11.31 million | | Bitcoin | −$244.13 million | −$702.24 million | | Ethereum | −$72.54 million | −$485.96 million | | Solana | −$3.32 million | −$21.05 million |

This divergence persisted throughout the week, with XRP ETFs adding $11.31 million over the first four trading days, while the other three categories combined shed $1.21 billion. Ethereum logged its eighth straight session of outflows, and Solana extended its losing streak to four sessions.

Franklin’s XRPZ (NYSE: XRPZ) accounted for the entire $8.17 million gain on Thursday, while the other four XRP funds posted zero net flows, indicating concentrated demand in one issuer rather than across the category.

Bitcoin’s significant selloff centered around Fidelity’s FBTC (NYSE: FBTC), which lost $197.09 million, approximately 81% of the category’s total outflow. BlackRock’s ETHA (NASDAQ: ETHA) led Ethereum withdrawals at $71.12 million, while Bitwise’s BSOL (NYSE: BSOL) lost $5.26 million in Solana, outweighing inflows into two competing funds.

XRP ETFs are now on track for a 13th straight week of net inflows, having added $11.31 million through Thursday. Friday’s numbers remain pending, and outflows would need to match that full amount to erase the week’s gain.

What the Charts Say About a Bounce

As reported by Benzinga, trader cryptoinsightuk noted on Thursday that XRP’s aggregated open interest fell 4.6% in token terms and 8.6% in dollar terms, a steeper drop than the price move suggests, indicating leveraged positions being closed out.
